Thank you for visiting!
I am extremely passionate about the Bay Area Ridge Trail mission. This incredible organization has opened 380 miles today, with a goal of 550-mile trail atop the ridgelines overlooking the Bay. This is no easy task-- their work involves procuring easements, liaising with private landowners, and coming up with creative connection solutions. Once complete, this will be a continuous distance hiking loop that circumnavigates the entire Bay Area!
Furthermore, this goal helps preserve the natural roots of the SF Bay through education and conservation initiatives. In our metropolitan bustle, hiking is like a deep breath-- an opportunity to get out of society, stress, and the constructs of time and to-do lists. It is a chance for introspection and reflection; a moment to realize the beauty of untouched nature, listen to the waves crash into the Marin shoreline, and experience the gentle mid-morning breeze that graces the headlands.
This is my second year participating in the 24-mile Ridge to Bridge Challenge. Once again, I am taking on the trail with my mom/hiking-partner-in-hiking-crime. She and I share a love of hiking the outdoors and passion for exploring all Bay Area trails.
Below are a few of my favorite snaps from last year's event:
